Climate and Weather Trend Analysis for Western Queensland Grazing

Helping Western Queensland’s cattle industry prepare for and adapt to a changing climate through long-term weather and temperature trend analysis.

Funded by Desert Channels Queensland (DCQ), the Rural Economies Centre of Excellence (RECoE), the Remote Area Planning & Development Board (RAPAD), and SQNNSW Innovation Hub, University of Southern Queensland

Project Lead: Dr Mahdiyeh Razeghi

This project analyses 50 years of station-based temperature and rainfall records across Western Queensland to identify climate trends, including changes in temperature extremes and rainfall variability. The findings will inform strategies to help the cattle and broader grazing industries adapt to ongoing climate change.
